Today, I’m thankful for long car rides. I love the solitude it affords. One never can tell how much one has to think about until they have the time to think about it. It’s not always a voluntary activity. On the lengthy trip from Northern Kentucky to New Cumberland, PA yesterday, I was forced into a lot of thinking.
Where am I really going? Where do I want to go?
What am I really doing? What do I want to do?
What’s the next step for me to take to achieve what I want?
What is the next song I want to hear on the radio?
Who’s waiting for me? Who am I waiting for?
What’s on the horizon for me?
UPDATE on 11.28.12: A weekend away, or home, can answer a lot of questions asked of one’s self.
