The sixth first day…

I know, that sounds funny to me also.  There can’t be a sixth first day, right? WRONG-O.  How many first days of the year have you had?  I’ve certainly had more than six. How many first days of school have you had? Again, I feel like I’m at a million times six.  How many first days at new jobs? In this job market, I feel like half the population has what feels like six times six.

How many of those first days of the year were in the same place?  How many of those first days of school were with the same school? How many first days at new jobs were in the same city with you living in the same house or apartment?  How many of those first days were less exciting, less enjoyable, or less new?  All this excitement, enjoyment, and novelty was based primarily on how you CHOSE to approach the situation.  How many more situations in our lives could be more exciting, enjoyable, and new if we CHOSE to see them that way?  How many more new people, places, adventures could we discover if we tried to approach our common world as new and exciting?

I saw this story last weekend.  Made me wonder what obscure places are all around that we miss every day.
