7.27.17 Hawaii Day 4

Today started out with an amazing meditation and gentle practice followed by fresh fruit breakfast, alignment principles and practice, delicious lunch, and an afternoon of Ayurveda with a dash of somatic yoga. I am IN LOVE with somatic yoga and am already setting some intentions for teaching. Throughout the day, cardinals, a mongoose, and a mama pig with her baby piggies crossed my path! Rain showers gave way to rainbows, conversations paved the way for insights, and apprehensions fell to reveal new friends.

I can see the most lovely crescent moon watching me type this and I’m reminded that the ones I love and miss saw the same moon before they laid their heads to rest tonight. I feel small, yet connected.

I am so thankful for this time, these people, this setting, and this experience. To honor the gratitude I feel, my sankalpa reads:

I am open, I am devoted, and I am brave.

I remember parts of this poem throughout the day. It reminded me that we are all walking a different path, we all lay our dreams out there for consideration, and we should all tread carefully as not to carelessly dash the dreams of others.

The Cloths of Heaven

Had I the heaven’s embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light;
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

W. B. Yeats
