The Road Not Taken Robert Frost Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the … Continue reading 8.20.17-8.21.17 Hawaii Day 28-29
What's your offering to the world? Some might phrase it as: What's your purpose? What do you want to be when you grow up? Dream job? Dream work? Life's work? Desire? Ambition? Direction? Focus? Intent? Objective? Reason? Mission? Dream? Target? Function in the world? How many of us know? How many of us ever figure … Continue reading 8.18.17-8.19.17 Hawaii Day 26-27
“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.” B.K.S. Iyengar ...and to know the difference? Maybe. What need not be endured for you? Can you cure it? What cannot be cured? Can you endure it?
Lots going on today: moving, shaking, evolving. This song has been stuck in my head all day. Have you ever really read/listened to the words? Take a gander. Let me know what you think. Share. Think. Elevate. Connect. The Times They Are A-Changin' Bob Dylan Come gather ’round people Wherever you roam And admit that … Continue reading 8.16.17 Hawaii Day 24
Days like today are what life's all about. Spent the day with one of the most enlightened, bright, shining lights I've even known. So very thankful to know her. She gives so very much and today, I was brought to tears with the thought that I might, just might, have been able to (even in … Continue reading 8.15.17 Hawaii Day 23
Invictus Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pic from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeoning of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath … Continue reading 8.12.17-8.14.17 Hawaii Day 20-22
The past few days have been filled with rainbows, shared moons, yoga nidra, and lovely people. I'm so thankful for all the lovely lights I've met here. They are bright, vibrant, and contribute enormously to the tapestry of individuals on this journey. Each person has a unique perspective and I'm appreciating them all. Tomorrow brings … Continue reading 8.10.17 and 8.11.17 Hawaii Day 18 and 19
My dad would have been 63 today. Some years, his birthday goes by with light memories of fun birthdays past. Some years, I want to hide under the covers and cry all day. Today was one of those hide days, but yoga teacher training all day precluded me from participating in that. My dad's favorite … Continue reading 8.9.17 Hawaii Day 17
**Note: Definitely thought I posted this two days ago... WRONGO! Sometimes you just need to wander... your mind, your body... Just let go. The Wanderlust Robert William Service The Wanderlust has lured me to the seven lonely seas, Has dumped me on the tailing-piles of dearth; The Wanderlust has haled me from the morris chairs … Continue reading 8.5.17 and 8.6.17 Hawaii Day 13 and 14
Today began with self-guided meditation by the ocean and an amazing inversion workshop. Being upside down with all that refreshing blood rushing to my brain always brings intense focus later in the day/evening (e.g., exciting ideas around classes, workshops, and retreats when I return home). After lunch came a long and focused discussion on developing … Continue reading 8.4.17 Hawaii Day 12
Today I am thankful for sleep. That is all.
Today I am thankful for my ability to go on road trips. I'm thankful for trips for races, holidays and family visits. I wonder how many people who can take their well-running car on a trip to do what they want to do actually appreciate that gift. I do.
Today I'm thankful for the AMAZING feeling that happens around the holidays. It really helps to make things completely possible that you would have never allowed yourself to imagine any other time of the year. Run further. Dream bigger. Smile wider.
Today I am thankful for the things in the world that one experiences to make them different. Different run because of the road or the weather. Different life because of the way I live it. AMAZING.
Today I am thankful for my caring, thoughtful, selfless, giving stud of a husband who always shows me grace and unconditional love - often in spite of myself. So thankful to be running the real ultra marathon of life with him.
Today I'm thankful for those times when you just know what's right. Sometimes you know what's right because everyone around you is doing what's right and with the most genuine intentions. Other times, you know what's right because a very clear example of WRONG is staring you in the face, sending you a text message … Continue reading TDT 2.0 Times
Today, I'm thankful for simple people. These people lay everything out there and speak plainly. I am thankful for these people because one is never on unstable ground with them. They are clear, concise, and transparent. There's never anxiety when approaching conversation or interaction with these people because, in my experience, it seems that with … Continue reading TDT 2.0 Simple People
